Great Canadian Toronto at Woodbine

From a Campbellville seat, the subject here is Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto, on the Woodbine Racetrack site. The guide sets that room beside Mohawk first, then works through poker hours, parking and the shuttle. The labour dispute and the ID rules at the door close things out.

From Guelph Line to Woodbine

You know the routine at Elements Casino Mohawk, where Guelph Line meets the 401. Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto has its address at 1133 Queens Plate Drive, on the Woodbine Racetrack site. That puts it 40 km northeast of Mohawk, in a straight line rather than by road.

Both the casino and the hotel run 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For the casino, call 416-675-1101. What used to be the Casino Woodbine floor now goes by the Grandstand Casino. It links to the Expansion Casino, which opened on June 20, 2023.

Is the trip worth it? That depends on what you want from the night. From Mississauga, Brampton and Toronto City Hall, it is the nearest room on the guide's distance table. Milton is another story: Mohawk stays closer, 10 km against 32.

How It Differs From Mohawk

Poker splits the two rooms. In Toronto, the room is on Level Two in the Grandstand Casino and is listed as open 24/7. Mohawk's game runs Thursday to Sunday, from noon to 4 AM. A Tuesday hand, then, can mean pointing the car toward Woodbine.

Away from the tables, the resort has a 400-room hotel, open since August 1, 2023. There is also The Theatre, a concert venue on the same property. The Great Canadian Rewards card from Mohawk carries over here too.

Self-parking costs nothing, in an enclosed 3,800-space garage or the outdoor lot. Valet runs $20 from Monday to Thursday, and $30 from Friday to Sunday. Without a car, you book the Casino Shuttle ahead; it is 19+ and costs $10 cash return. Pickups are at Jane St and Wilson Ave, at Bishop Ave and Yonge St, and near Langstaff GO on Red Maple Road. Booking opens 48 hours ahead and closes at 8 p.m. the night before.

Before You Go, Dated October 2026

Great Canadian posted an update on October 2, 2026, which the editors read on October 8, 2026. It says the resort remains open 24/7 through a labour disruption. Unifor reported a lockout of about 100 security officers, starting July 23, 2026. At the picket line, cars get through at least every three minutes. Inside, the hotel, casino and restaurants carry on as normal.

Two pieces of photo ID are asked for at the door: a valid original government-issued one, and a secondary photo ID. You must be 19 or older to enter, the same minimum as any Ontario casino.
